What brought Juli to The Coach Training Academy

My journey to reach The Coach Training Academy was a winding one. But, I believe I was meant to find this school when I did.

I’ve often held career roles that involved listening—as a qualitative researcher, as a manager, as a consultant—and even sought out meaningful listening roles as a volunteer, when I became both a mediator and a circlekeeper (which now are also helpful in business). I love to get to know and understand others. I aim to offer an empathetic, safe place for people to speak their truths, while also helping them to grow and evolve.

In fact, I built my business on the idea of helping others increase their success—whatever success means to them. After launching my company, Peer Performance Solutions, in 2014, I was gratified to be hired for meaningful work in helping organizations and individuals lift performance. In addition to consulting and training, I was also being called upon as a leadership or performance coach, which I loved, so I decided it was time for me to earn a formal international coaching certification.

When it came to researching and selecting a coach training school, I did my due diligence. The Coach Training Academy quickly surfaced as my front-runner. The logistics worked (weekly virtual training, practice sessions, mentoring support, payment plan), but what really decided me was the vibe I got from speaking with one of the partners, Steven Kiges. I liked his energy, his passion, and his compassion. After learning my background, he was forthright that some elements of training may be review for me, since I’d had training on elements such as listening in the past. However, we both agreed it never hurts to have a refresher. After more research and a few other conversations, I selected The Coach Training Academy and I am happy I did. 

The Coach Training Academy provides exceptional trainers and mentors, online platforms to access training and marketing materials, and a focus on building a coaching business, by challenging and helping students to create a business and marketing plan as part of the certification training process.

Even if one doesn’t aspire to be a career coach, the training through The Coach Training Academy can help leaders and anyone who has relationships (and who doesn’t?) to improve and evolve. The techniques involved in coaching are ones that will help anyone reach greater success in any arena.

While I’ve been a leader and coached staff in leadership roles, it wasn’t until I went through The Coach Training Academy’s training program that I realized what true coaching is. While I had certainly used some of the coaching tactics I learned, when I was an organizational leadership for others, learning additional methods for helping clients find their way has been very beneficial to me. I am thrilled that I have added this formal training and coaching certifications to my toolkit of offerings. Now as a Certified Professional Coach and a Certified Emotional Intelligence Coach through the Certified Coaches Alliance, I have already seen my coaching clients flourish and find greater success as a result of what I learned from The Coach Training Academy.
