About Certified Life Coach Elyssa Lassiter
Greetings! My name is Elyssa Lassiter, and I am from the historic city of Vicksburg, Mississippi. I am so thankful to be in a position to help people find their own path through my coaching practice, Say Life! Personal Coaching.
I have two Bachelor's degrees from Southern University and A&M College in Mass Communication (Broadcast Journalism) and Spanish (¡Hola!) I earned my Master's Degree in Applied Communication from Mississippi College. When I am not working with children in faith-based groups or frolicking in the sunshine with my two German Shepherd Akita mixes, I am teaching interpersonal, intercultural, and speech communication courses through Tidewater Community College located in Portsmouth, Virginia.
My background is in Television News, and I have had the opportunity to interview individuals ranging from former President Jimmy Carter, female rapper, MC Lyte, all the way to a group of moms who created a viral video, an organization of former prostitutes who completely turned their lives around, or precious children who have an adorable story to tell. I've worked as a reporter, producer, and video journalist in cities such as Dallas, Baton Rouge, Atlanta, and Norfolk, Virginia.
I also love bonding with others through health and wellness, and teach Zumba fitness and Hip Hop Aerobics. I frequently participate in Boot Camp classes as well as Crossfit.
My mother and family have been so supportive, and I am married to my active-duty Navy husband/best friend, who encourages me daily. (We're finishing up his very first deployment!) My mission is reflected in this excerpt from 1 Thessalonians 5:11: 'Therefore encourage one another and build each other up...'
Thank you for taking the time to read a bit about me, and I look forward to getting to know you!
Fun Facts: I served as Miss Vicksburg and competed in the Miss Mississippi Pageant.
I competed in a bodybuilding/physique competition.
I play the flute!

My Experience with The Coach Training Academy
"Informative. Helpful. Engaging.
These are just a few words to describe my training experience with Steve Kiges. I was humbled to be taught by someone with such extensive experience coupled with an impressive background. I felt so comfortable and welcome in class! The content was interesting, and the coaching approaches I learned can be used, not only in my coaching practice, but also in my everyday life. He did a fabulous job of explaining some very complex material, and addressing ANY questions (I had many,) that came up along the way. As it pertains to logistics, Steve also made it very easy to dial into your classes remotely. I was able to be in a virtual classroom with people all over the world!
As a college professor who teaches online classes, I can understand the challenge of keeping students engaged via technology. Steve not only kept us engaged, but also provided an open floor for us to discuss subject matter and share experiences! Much emphasis was placed on the fundamentals, and I believe that is of much importance. The information provided was very clear and easy to understand. I truly feel that Steve genuinely cares about me and my success as a coach, as he does each one of his students. I am grateful that I came across The Coach Training Academy, and am grateful for the support and instruction from Master Coach Steve Kiges!"
